About RupeeScope

What RupeeScope is
RupeeScope is a website for people in India who want to understand their money. Today it has calculators for SIPs and other mutual fund plans, trading charges and tax on shares, a directory of what brokers charge, and guides that explain terms such as STT and capital gains in everyday words.
The charges and tax figures come from a set of dated, sourced rules files. Each rate shows when it started to apply, where it comes from and when we last checked it. See the methodology for the full list.
What it is not
- RupeeScope is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, research analyst or broker.
- We do not tell anyone what to buy or sell, and we do not publish target prices, tips or return promises.
- We do not hold money, take orders or place trades. There are no accounts to open.
- Any grey market premium on the IPO pages is an unofficial, dated, hand-entered figure, not a prediction.
- A calculator shows what your own inputs and the stated rules produce. It is not a forecast.
Please read the disclaimer before you rely on anything here.
How it is paid for
RupeeScope is free to use. There are no accounts, no paywall and no advertising on the site today. We expect to pay for it with advertising in future, and possibly with sponsorships or affiliate links. If that happens, paid items will be marked as such, this page will be updated, and no payment will change a number, a rule or a calculation.
Who is behind it
RupeeScope is an independent project. We have not yet published names or credentials on this site, and we would rather say so than imply any. What you can check for yourself is the sourcing: every rate names the circular, regulation or broker page it came from, and each guide lists its sources.
If something looks wrong, tell us on the contact page. Fixes are recorded on the corrections page, and how we write is set out in the editorial policy.
